FS2004 Scenery for Howard AFB (MPHO) Panama.

Howard AFB base was opened in the early 1930's to provide protection for the Panama Canal and provide a warm water port for America's new two-ocean navy. With the rise of the carrier is was realized that the canal zone was particularly vulnerable to attack and that an air base for friendly fighters and observation craft was essential. Over it's almost 70 year career the base has hosted virtually every kind of aircraft in the U.S. arsenal. This scenery is intended to show Howard in a 1990's configuration. Although the original 1930's hangars still remain in use the majority of the base facilities have been replaced over time to a more modern and modular look.

If you don't like static aircraft or it conflicts with your AI package, you can remove the static scenery by simply deleting the file "Howard_Static_Aircraft.bgl" from the scenery folder.

I strongly recommend you download and install the military objects library "mcdmil.zip" by Michael Carr available from SurClaro or SurClaro.com as I used a number of these objects.

The AI is available as a separate download under the file name "HW_MPHO2.zip". Sorry for the incovenience but several people noted they did not need the AI in my last release and as it takes up 1/2 the file it seemed worthwhile to try it this way.

To Install, just unzip, place, and activate the Whidbey_NAS folder in your Addon Scenery folder and you should be good to go.

For Example: Drive X:\Flight Simulator 9\Addon Scenery\Howard AFB

I'm not big on instructions because everyone's computer is set up a little differently and if you are installing scenery you should know what to do with these files // HOWEVER // if you do have questions or need some help I will be glad to do whatever I can.

These files should not harm your computer. However I take no responsibility for explosions, floods, data loss, time inversions, or any other damage incurred by the use of these files.
